Ya Kun Kaya Toast is a famous fast food chain in Singapore. The café is small. Staff is quick and efficient. Toasts and coffee are freshly prepared upon ordering, and are very reasonably priced. All toast sets come with a drink and a silky-smooth soft-boiled egg. Highly recommend the crispy Kaya Toast with butter and sugar. Simple and delicious meal!

I stopped in around lunchtime and tried the peanut Kaya. It was very busy but the line moved quickly and I got my food promptly. Tasty and good value for the money.

Visited while in Singapore. No frills casual breakfast spot for kaya toast. Long lines show that it's a popular chain. This location was inside a mall. My wife and I both enjoyed the kaya toast and the soft boiled eggs with soy sauce. Great value for money, but the American in me did want a bigger portion though. Guess one would need to make multiple orders to satisfy a bigger appetite.

QUICKIE REVIEW Great way to start your day for breakfast. FOOD This is what I tried: -Butter Kaya Toast with soft boiled egg Heard this was a local experience and it was recommended. Got up early and gave it a shot. The taste is familiar but it's a new play on it with the kaya jam and egg. It was nice and rich (if you don't like rich, have it without butter). Worth the try. PARKING No. SERVICE Order at counter and pick up at counter. PRICE Less than $10 for a set. TIP/OTHER THOUGHTS Pretty cool if you just sit outside and take it all in. I got there around 0730 with little line. You can see people starting there day and the morning rush start to come in. It's nice to watch if you are not in the same hurry.

When in Singapore, one must get kaya toast. This chain was widely talked about, so we came for breakfast one morning. We decided to try a couple different sets and got the A) Kaya Toast with Butter Set (SG$5.60), B) Kaya Toast with Peanut Set (SG$5.60), and E) Smoked cheese French Toast with Kaya Set (SG$6.00). All the sets come with 2 soft-boiled eggs and a drink (coffee or milk tea). They will serve you the drinks right away and then give you a buzzer for when the rest of your food is ready. This is my first experience with kaya toast and it's tasty. If you're a first timer like me, you pour some of the soy sauce over the eggs and dip your toast into it. I liked the combination of the sweetness from the Kaya jam, crunchiness of the toast, savoriness of the soy sauce and egg mixture dip. It's simple, but yummy. Also, makes for a quick and easy meal. I liked the milk tea the most for a nice little morning breakfast. I only wish there was more filling in the toast though compared to other Kaya toast spots.

This was our first meal when we landed in Singapore, and it set such a good time for the rest of our trip. It's a quick service place, so order your food at the counter and wait until your number appears on the screen to pick up your food. We ordered the kaya butter toast set to share, as well as an additional milk tea. The kaya toast was honestly incredible. It was sweet and somehow seemed to just melt in your mouth. Paired with the eggs, it made a perfect salty sweet snack. Coffee was also really delicious!! They used condensed milk, and the coffee flavor was really strong. Highly, highly recommend for a quick breakfast or a quick pick me up!

For $4.27 USD, you can treat yourself to a quick and easy Singaporean breakfast. We ordered the kaya butter toast set (comes with soft boiled eggs & coffee). Order came out very quick and the coffee wasn't too sweet. Would recommend adding some soy sauce to the eggs and try dipping the toast in it! It's a great light meal to start the day and a definite must if you're in Singapore.
